Unity’s Worldwide Day of Prayer, September 9 – Unity Center will participate in Unity’s World Day of Pray by holding a prayer vigil from 8 am – 5 pm. This year’s theme, “Living in the Flow,” reminds us that the Divine is within us, ever-present and active. You can be part of the World Day of Prayer in several ways:
- Give your prayer list to UCOT’s Prayer Ministry so they can be included in their prayer vigil.
- Schedule a time and be one of the people actively holding a prayer consciousness at the Unity Center that day.
- Take time out on September 9, wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, and consciously hold this year’s theme in mind.
Pizza & Prosperity - You are cordially invited to join the Prosperity Ministry for our first Prosperity Pizza Luncheon at Unity Center, Tuesday, September 7th at Noon. Movie Night at Unity Center, September 9th at 7 pm – “WALL-E” WALL-E (with Ben Burt who was the voice of R2D2) has been cleaning the earth for 700 years after it was abandoned, when he meets EVE. We find an amazing spirit in these machines and are saved. Discussion during and after the movie. Bring a friend! Suggested love offering – $5.
Carson City Health & Human Services 5th Annual Homeless Connection, Saturday, September 25, from
10 am – 2 pm at 900 E. Long in the CCHHS parking lot. Rev. Larry and Paula will be there as volunteers and Unity has reserved a table to display Unity information and/or giveaways. Those who are interested in participating in this very worthwhile event should see Paula Schneider. We are especially looking for volunteers to coordinate supervising our table and solicit contributions from Unity Center.
Adventure in Faith (AIF) 2010 – Mystics’ Study Circles, Starts October 10
Step boldly into AIF 2010 by hosting and/or participating in a Mystic’s Study Circle. AIF 2010 Commitment Celebration Brunch – November 14 Mark your calendars to attend this beautiful and fun afternoon (celebration, good food and commitment). It will be festive and we will enjoy a delicious catered brunch (prepared by a professional chef at the Plaza Conference Center). A love offering will be taken at the brunch and you will be invited to make a commitment to Unity Center and our own spiritual unfolding in 2011.
Unity Men’s Retreat at Lake Tahoe, October 8-10, 2010: Experience tradition and ritual; discussions on spirituality with other men; light-hearted conversation and fellowship; and quiet reflection. Meals are healthful, delicious, and abundant. Zephyr Point retreat center, is nestled amid the trees overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe (www.zephyrpoint.org). Fee: $150. Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible: Speak with Rev. Larry if you are interested in Metaphysical Interpretation of the Bible and what dates and times are convenient for you. Metaphysical interpretation of the Bible is something all Truth Students can know, practice, and experience. Rev. Larry will help get you started on a voyage of discovery – finding your own life story in the pages of the Bible.
Asilomar 2010 Retreat – “Enlighten Up!…,” October 1 – 3: Join Rev. Larry, Paula, and Kris and Rob Robison for a weekend of outstanding speakers, music and workshops. Experience it all in a beautiful and spiritually enriching setting. Speakers include Rev. Edwene Gaines, Greg Tamblyn, Rabbi Steve Vale, and others. This is also an exceptionally important regional retreat, since it marks what may be, after over 50 years, a final meeting at the Asilomar Conference Center. However, because of increasing costs and decreasing attendance, the regional board has decided to look elsewhere for a retreat sight. And, this may well be one of the last Unity regional retreats at Asilomar. Don’t miss being part of the closing in this chapter of Unity’s regional history.

Truckee Meadows Community College World Religion Classes – The following classes are open: World Religions; The life, Experiments and Philosophy of Gandhi; and Perspectives on God.
Conference on the Spiritual State of the World September 9 – 10, 9 am – 4 pm daily, Eldorado Hotel, Reno. Speakers are scheduled including leaders in religion, spirituality, science, health and medicine. Registration and a continental breakfast each day at 8 am.
